He obtained his BS in Sustainable Parks, Recreation, and Tourism from Michigan State University and his MPA from California State University, Fullerton.

Along with teaching, Matthew is also the coordinator for the Central Michigan Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CM-CISMA), allowing him to work with all different sorts of organizations, people, landscapes, and species.
Admittedly, the name of the organization is a mouthful, but the work that gets accomplished in terms of restoring biodiversity to Michigan’s environment and supporting local communities through developing healthy areas of recreation makes it well worth it.
